Report and Results
Summerstrand had around 30 Nippers at Plett
10 U10’s
12 U12’s
8 U14’s
There was an amazing vibe at the Summies Tent as we had a prime position on the West side of the main Flags Arena. Also set up around our tent was three or four Gazebo’s with a huge parent support group. A number of Nippers were not able to make the first day as there were conflicting events in PE: cricket and swimming.
Summerstrand participated well and were a force to be reckoned with in a number of events.
The program was packed with activities from 11am on the Saturday when the event started until 5pm when an exhausted group of Nippers were able to leave for a well earned rest.
Sunday morning the first event started at 8.30 and the awards finally ended at 14.3. One parent remarked that the children hardly had time to have something to eat. He was right especially us with a small team.
We were all proud of our Children. They played the game even when the odds appeared to be stacked against them.

Hi All
I would
like to start off in congratulating all the U14 nippers for the incredible
spirit , courage and team work they displayed in Plett this last weekend. They
exceeded all my expectations and for this I am truly thankful. They stepped up
and made me proud. Every one of the group displayed exceptional talent and
leadership skills that I am sure will take them to great heights in the future.
We are really privileged to have some super talented individuals representing
our club. I know we had a few nasty’s but we all learn from these. This is a
team that I am proud to be part of and I would like to thank all the parents
for allowing me to be part of this team as the coach.
Thank you to all the parents who made the trip to Plett. It meant a lot to us at Summies and believe me the kids SHINE when you guys are there to support. The next big test for our team will be Nationals that are being held at Kings beach on the
30th March – 01 April. We will discuss all details closer to the time but I need to start putting my teams together. Please could parents confirm availability of your son / daughter for this event. I need to have the names to Tracey by Thursday morning.
Once again a big thanks for the season so far and see you on the beach on Sunday
