ADDO ELEPHANT PARK GUIDED TOURS Shore Excurions and Passenger liners should mke advance bookings.

ADDO ELEPHANT PARK GUIDED TOURS

Shore Excursions --- If you are on a passenger liner and wish to make a reservation for a Safari or other tour -- Please do so now to avoid disappointment.    Hoping to make a reservation on the day of arrival is extremely risky.

I specialise in taking small groups; backpackers; visitors to South Africa and families to Addo Elephant National Park.

We are never able to Guarantee sightings of Animals  -- But that is what makes visiting a large Reserve, like Addo, so exciting.

An average day in Addo may look something like this:

Pick up from your residence or Passenger Liner at the dockside at 9.00am
Registration in Addo and begin our search for wildlife 10.00am
The Hartebees is one of the Antelope we should find in Addo
Elephants must bath.  Here is a combination of Pool Party / Mud bath.

We are usually able to start spotting animals within the first 30 minutes and so the fun continues.
Addo Elephant Park is predominantly a reserve designed for endemic animals (Those animals which would have been found in this area prior to the arrival of settlers in the 1700's and 1800's).
We will often have a picnic lunch.  This seems to work with most guests.
Finding Elephants -- Families with babies; Bull Elephants or herds of Elephants.
We will also be on the lookout for Buffalo; Zebra; Antelope; Warthog; A wide variety of Birds and, if we are really lucky, we may find Lions.
We found a couple of Lions at a Buffalo Kill
This Brown Hyena next to the road on a rainy day in Addo
After a couple of hours in the reserve; we stop for something to eat and drink.
By now we are all friends and are looking forward to the second half of the day where we continue our search for wildlife.
We try to not predetermine our end to the afternoon as this often depends on sightings and how the day has progressed.

I look forward to meeting you and being able to share the Addo Experience with you.

Your guide is Peter.  Here he is hard at work in his Addo Office.

One of the largest Bull Elephants in Addo.  Probably around 3m tall and weighing 5 000kg.
Spotted Hyena found near to Rooidam .... They are often seen in this area but are shy and hard to find.
In December 2017 the grasses are green, flowers of Yellow and Purple abound and Zebra just look special.
Finding Lions is never easy so when we spotted a pride of 6 with three cubs it was really special.

Spotting a Rhino is a really lucky find as these are shy and elusive animals in Addo
Another unusual sighting is this pair of Cape Cobra mating.
