first September is Spring Day? And it is the colour run in PE. We had been at Hockey on Saturday evening and through conversation had managed to borrow a Wheelchair for Ally to take part in the Colour run on Sunday morning, Spring Day. The colour run was a lot of fun with Ally's friends pushing her. I was with the Werth's and Adrienne. We wore white and were plastered with paint. We walked the whole 5k yet it was still quite tiring. Barbara was still in Canada this first week of September. I had a lot of fetching to do including School, Polo, Physio. My days are full, starting with early morning runs, Ally, Work and evening commitments such as Cell and Alpha. Each night I am exhausted and fall asleep early. Markus Herr, who has hiked with us on a few occasions, has a motor accident in Mill Park road. He is in intensive care and struggling to recover. Saturday morning is the first windless saturday in a month. We have a big group of walkers and runners (17). I look forward to these Saturday morning outings. Our Parkrun is a big success. Ally and Jessica do the scanning of barcodes as part of Ally's project. We have nearly 300 runners. Daniel comes around 75 and Lene also takes part. Each week we have large numbers of first timers. I spend the afternoon with Rosalind and Catherine trying to learn to load the data.

AT THE START OF THE PARKRUN WITH THE MPRG Sunday morning is the Sunshine Coast trail run with Claire and Robyn. This evening Ally and I attend the confirmation service. Monday morning it is cold windy and rain. I stay in bed. Barbara returns from Canada today. This Saturday 14th September is the first time that I am in charge of the colour run. We do our normal beach front run this morning. There is also the Collegiate and the Clarendon Park spring walks so we are delighted to have a new record number of runners at 340 this morning. Last week we had 290.
DANIEL AT HIS FIRST PARKRUN HAD A WONDERFUL RUN ON HIS OWN JUST FOLLOWING THE GROUP. I WAS SO VERY PROUD OF HIM

After the parkrun I had to go home and start the admin of loading the results and times. This was a first for me as Rosalind had showed me how to do this but I was still not sure if I would be able to cope with the technology. I had to phone her once or twice but finally had all the results and times loaded and was able to successfully upload to the net. That evening an email with results was sent to all runners. I felt a sense of satisfaction. Saturday afternoon Ally had Polo; I had to register for the Urban Run which was taking place the next day and later we had a Braai at Liesl's new house with the Nelsons. Sunday was the Urban run which I did with Bernd while Catherine recorded us on her camera. Monday Adrienne; Elmarie, Anne and I did the parkrun course as I would be away on Saturday at the Cockscomb. Tuesday I left for EL and JHB where I spent the rest of the week. Saturday Morning 21st Graham; John and I left at 5am to meet up with Fred and the rest of the group for Cockscomb. SEE BLOG FOR COCKSCOMB Sunday evening church Monday morning I fix the tyre and then Barbara and I drive through to Alexandria to renew her drivers licence.

TUESDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER
HERITAGE DAY AND PUBLIC HOLIDAY. It is also National Braai day. I have an early morning beach front run with our group. It is a beautiful sunny morning and I am loving being out there.
Barbara and I take Ally out to the Thornhill farm for the first time. Mat takes us for a ride in the Suzuki that he has recently acquired and he shows us a bit of the farm. Mat has plans for his family including us to build cottages on the property.
We have a braai and a really good relaxing afternoon. Ally has polo later.

Wednesday I have a meeting in Port Alfred.
Thursday 26th I drive to Queenstown and spend two days doing branch visits.

HERITAGE DAY IN SA: 24TH SEPTEMBER IS ALSO NATIONAL BRAAI DAY. SO WE ALL HEAD OFF TO THORNHILL TO VISIT MATTHEW AND DELENE. MAT HAS RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS SUZUKI 4 x 4 AND HE TAKES US FOR A RIDE ON THE FARM. WITH JOHN, KAREN AND ALLY.

AN OLD DISUSED HOUSE THAT IS NOW USED BY CATTLE AND BATS. VERY RUN DOWN WITH THE WALLS CAVING IN AND THE ROOF BARELY HOLDING UP
MATTHEW; ADRIENNE AND PETER DO THE PARKRUN ROUTE ON WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON TO ALLOW US TO ASSIST ON SATURDAY.

DRIVING TO QUEENSTOWN EARLY THURSDAY 26TH. HAS ITS ADVANTAGES AS YOU GET TO SEE A SUNRISE LIKE THIS ONE.

THE ROADWORKS HAVE PROGRESSED WELL ON THE SECTION WHERE THE HEAVY RAINS WASHED THIS AWAY A YEAR AGO WHEN ALLY AND I WERE AT A WATER POLO TOURNAMENT IN EAST LONDON. AT THAT TIME WE DROVE ACROSS THIS SECTION JUST MINUTES BEFORE IT WAS COMPLETELY WASHED AWAY. IT HAS TAKEN OVER A YEAR TO GET TO THIS STAGE.
HOPEFULLY THIS WILL NOT BE FOR MUCH LONGER AND WE WILL BE ABLE TO RIDE ON THE NORMAL ROAD AGAIN.

Friday afternoon as I drive home I hear on the radio of an accident on the road ahead. Unfortunately I saw this accident and heard later that three people had died.
ACCIDENT ABOUT 60KM FROM PE ON THE GRAHAMSTOWN ROAD

Saturday Morning was our morning training run. It had been blowing all night with some gale force winds and rain as well. As we started off in a westerly direction I had to duck into the wind and rain. As we made our way up Walmer boulevard I felt my Achilles tendon giving trouble. I think that this was due to me bending over into the hill and wind. After the airport I felt a lot better. Anne had gone on ahead so I chased her down and then realised that Suzanne was on my tail. Suzanne and I ran the rest of the way together as we had left the rest of the group behind. We took the route along 2nd ave, Erasmus and 7th ave back to Hobie beach. I then assisted with the arranging of the Parkrun. We only had 65 runners this morning but this was a good number as the weather was not at all suitable for being on the outdoors.

Barbara has a stall at the Baby Show at Moffet on Main.
Lene sells her Toowongfoo Blackboard paint and then catches on to a request for Playdough and makes some and packages it and then sells this as well.

MILL PARK PLAY SCHOOL STAND AT THE BABY SHOW
BARBARA AND LENE HAVE DONE AN EXCELLENT JOB TO PUT UP THIS STAND
COLOURFUL STAND WHICH ATTRACTED A GREAT DEAL OF ATTENTION FROM PARENTS AND CHILDREN
LENE ALSO DISPLAYED HER TOOWONGFOO PAINT AND PLAYDOUGH

A GROUP OF THE MPRG GIRLS GO OFF TO MOSSELL BAY FOR A STAGE TRAIL RUN. ELMARIE; ROBYN; ANGELA; MICHELLE; AND CLAIRE. SHARING A BEER.
