LOUTERWATER MISSION SEPTEMBER 2012

LOUTERWATER MISSION SEPT 2012. WALMER METHODIST CHURCH CELL GROUP

CRONJE AND CLAUDINE; TEEGAN AND BENJAMIN
PETER AND BARBARA
ROB ERMES; MEGAN, JASON, MORGAN AND FRIEND
BURT, CHRIS AND MARKS

Our Cell Group had made a committment to support the Mission initiated by Ken Pattison at the church.
We set a date and after collecting as much as we could in the way of clothing, Claudine putting together packs of food and goodie bags we left on the Friday afternoon.

We overnighted in Joubertina. Had a bit of a get together in one of the cottages for our supper and were soon asleep in comfortable beds in Die Kraaltjie cottages.

Saturday morning we were up and ready to rumble after a coffee in the restaurant. The drive to Louterwater is 20km further on.

We met the pastor: Cacwebe who took us into the church where he explained his circumstances. He had to do some visitations. We carried on with the removal of the derelict structure outside the church while some of the group did some painting.

The sheeting and wood work was removed and stored next door at the house where the pastor lives. We worked hard and had a bit of fun doing this. Claudine and Chris arranged some lunch for us. We then all left for Joubertina where we watched rugby until it was time for Barbara and I to leave.

The rest of the group stayed for the afternoon. They distributed the food and clothing and attended the service the following morning.

THis was a good bonding session for our group and we were able to bring a bit of cheer to some of the local families who do not have much in the way of future or opportunities as they appear to be stuck in the rut of where they come from and their present situation.

WALMER METHODIST CELL GROUP LED BY CLAUDINE VAN ZYL

Ken Pattison has partnered with Richard Cacwebe of the Louterwater Methodist church. Our Cell group was able to contribute in a small way by going to Louterwater and giving some moral and physical support to Richard.

Joubertina: Die Kraaltjie; we had this really cute cottage / chalet to ourselves. Friday evening we met at the house where Cronje and Claudine were staying. A nice supper of soup and snacks/

Barbara enjoying a plate of instant porridge before we leave for Louterwater
At Die Kraaltjie there is this little touch farm with ducks and birds.  Jason found a whole lot of abandoned eggs in the enclosure./
